Catching Up.

We're finally at a point where a lot of the big wedding tasks are taken care of. Now, I'm trying to focus on the little details like accessories for my dress, ceremony and reception decor, and invites!

I tried on my dress for the second time this past weekend, and I love it more than the first time I saw it! I'm definitely very happy with my alteration and the dress overall. I finally found a pair of "wear-again" pumps for my dress and ordered them immediately because the last pair I thought I'd get were sold out in my size. They arrived yesterday. I love them, they're the perfect color, BUT, they're too high. My dress is hard enough to walk in, but to add heels that are 4+ inches tall...? Not gonna happen. So back to the drawing board.

A few weeks ago Tyler and I went to pick out the tuxes. They're more of a suit, which is what I wanted. They're grey with grey vests, so I'll get my wish of having the guys wear only the vests for the ceremony. We're also this -> <- close to having Tyler agree on all the guys wearing grey chucks! Tyler's not really a dress up kind of guy, so I don't know why he was fighting me on that, plus it's a good reason to buy a new pair of chucks, right?

I've been playing around with a few small decor ideas. So far so good, but I'm so picky I'm not sure I'm going to love these ideas when they're set out on large tables. My creations include bottles, burlap, and aqua spray paint! Posts on those once I make my decision.

I have decided to buy an invitation template (that I can custom create) and have them printed through an online company myself. I'm taking on a set of $700 wedding invites and hoping to get them put together on my own for under $200. Cross your fingers!

Last week I started on our cake toppers. I found a really cute one on Etsy.com that I almost bought, but it was few hundred dollars out budget for a cake topper. (Really, there is no budget for a cake topper, but if there was, this one went over!) They were just a custom set of wooden peg dolls with a cute banner. I don't like to brag about my skills at all, but I'd like to think I'm a pretty good painter/crafter when I set my mind to it. So I'm turning myself and Tyler into wooden peg dolls to make our cake topper. I'm pretty excited about this one : )

Sorry I can't post too many pictures, but I can't give away too much. I guess this blog will come in handy a lot more once the wedding is over and I can post a lot more DIY tutorials.
